THIS IS MY STORY

Tim Gray is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, sailboat captain, world traveler, and public speaker. His history of entrepreneurial, philanthropic, public speaking, and travel efforts span 20 years with experience in charitable executive board of director roles, higher education thought leadership, branding, partnership, marketing, and advertising across all 50 states and 47 countries.

 

Gray is the the Host of The Golden Rules, a web series and podcast focusing on the lives and businesses of today’s music industry executives that is being transformed into into a book series titled "The Golden Rules" Gray most recently served as the Founder and CEO of the award-winning Nashville-based company, Grayscale Marketing,  before exiting the company via acquisition to Romeo Entertainment Group in 2021, where he served as Vice President of Marketing for the parent comany and Chief Executive Officer of Grayscale Marketing until the end of his contract in December of 2023. 

Throughout his career, Tim has been awarded the Nashville Business Journal's Best In Business Award, Small Business Of The Year, Nashville Emerging Leader Award in Arts and Entertainment, NEXT Award in the Sports, Music and Entertainment category, been listed in Inc Magazine's People On The Move, and 40 Under 40. In addition, Tim has been awarded Music Industry Organization, Society Of Leaders In Development, Member of the Year in 2015, and Spirit of SOLID Award in 2022. In addition Gray was to nominated for a Facebook advertising award, Most Admired CEO, and Entrepreneur Of The Year, and most recently, in November of 2023, was named 75 of 75 by his alma mater for 75 standout alumni in 75 years.

Throughout his career Gray has been featured in publications such as CNBC, Inc. In July 2021, Grayscale Marketing reached a significant achievement by surpassing the one million ticket sales milestone for his event clients. Since then, the company has continued to thrive, selling an additional 620,000 tickets, bringing the company close to the two million tickets sold mark. To put this achievement into context, the 1,620,000 tickets sold would be equivalent to selling out the CMA Festival, Bonnaroo, and Pilgrimage Festival (with a combined capacity of 197,000) for eight consecutive years. As a reference, the 2022 CMA Festival in Nashville had an estimated 80,000 attendees, while Bonnaroo has a capacity of 90,000 and Pilgrimage Festival sits at 27,000.

 

In addition to his entrepreneurial experience, Tim is an impassioned philanthropic leader. He holds Board Of Director positions for three Nashville-based non-profit organizations, has held multiple board and committee positions for Nashville-based non-profit organizations and is an active member of twelve marketing and entertainment organizations.

 

Additionally, in 2019, Gray established an annual scholarship fund for students in the recording industry who are attending a university in Middle Tennessee. The scholarship recipients receive a cash award, an internship at my company, and a mentorship from me personally.

 

While work is an integral part of his life, it is also important to take breaks and reduce stress. To do this, Gray engages in a variety of hobbies, including sailing, painting, woodworking, reading, and traveling. He has sailed over 3,000 nautical miles across 13 countries and hundreds of islands in the Caribbean and Mediterranean seas. Gray has also been fortunate enough to visit 37 other countries across 5 continents. These activities not only provide a creative outlet but also help him escape the pressures of work and focus on solutions when he encounters roadblocks.
